We are in the midst of extraordinary and unprecedented circumstances. As countries around the world continue efforts to end the global COVID-19 pandemic, we want you to know that we understand the concerns and uncertainty currently faced by all our friends, from our valued participants to our talented instructors, local guides and operators, and the people in local communities that rely upon tourism by groups like ours for their livelihoods. The quality of your overall experience, including your safety and security, have and always will be our top priority. We want you to know that the Visionary Wild team is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely, and we are paying careful attention to information and guidelines from the WHO, the CDC, the scientific community, and health authorities around the globe. We are committed to doing our part to minimize the spread of coronavirus both in the USA and abroad, for the sake of the health of our participants, our instructors, and the global community in general. Fortunately, with widespread vaccination and application of protocols recommended by the CDC and other health authorities, will lead to a steady decline in cases globally so that we can all begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel sooner rather than later. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this crisis.

CANCELLED AND POSTPONED PROGRAMS

We continue to monitor how the COVID-19 situation evolves, and we will adapt our schedule as necessary. Particularly as vaccines become more widely available and administered, the particular logistics and details of a given workshop or expedition may enable us to apply safety protocols and operate the program in a manner that is reasonable and that significantly mitigates risks. In other cases, it may not be reasonable to operate the program in question, or it may simply be logistically impossible due to travel restrictions or unavailability of necessary lodging, transportation, or other services. We will be in contact with participants as soon as it is clear that a given workshop or expedition will be affected. To the extent that we can, we will try to reschedule affected programs to a later date so that you can still experience the destinations you wanted to visit and travel with the instructors from whom you wanted to learn.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICIES

Since its founding in early 2011, Visionary Wild has tried to be as flexible as possible in providing refunds to clients who have had to cancel their participation in a program for which they registered, even up to just a few months out from the start date. We have also provided refunds on any trips that we have had to cancel. However, we are in the midst of a situation unprecedented in living memory, and the full extent of its impact won’t be know for some time. Visionary Wild therefore has temporarily modified its general cancellation and refund policies to adapt to the constantly evolving nature of this pandemic. Effective April 20, 2020 through June 30, 2021, Visionary Wild will offer credits in lieu of refunds in case of cancellations by clients or by Visionary Wild, as outlined below. As of July 1, 2021 standard terms and conditions apply.

Programs Cancelled or Postponed by Visionary Wild

If a program is cancelled by Visionary Wild due to travel restrictions or unsafe conditions related to the coronavirus pandemic, we will attempt to reschedule the program for a later date. Participants registered for a cancelled or postponed program will have the following options:

  • Transfer registration payments from the postponed program to the rescheduled program at the postponed program rate or a 5% discount off the rescheduled program rate if it is higher than the postponed program rate. Any remaining funds will be applied as a credit that can be used towards additional costs related to the rescheduled program (such as additional hotel nights), or towards a future program through the end of 2022
  • Receive a credit for 105% of the registration payments made. Credits can be used towards any program through the end of 2022, and are transferrable. If we are unable to reschedule a program, this option will automatically apply to registered participants.

Client Cancellations

If you choose to cancel your participation in a program that is still scheduled to operate 30 days or more in advance of the start date, you will receive a credit for the payments you have made toward that program, less any non-recoverable deposits or payments that we have made to third parties on your behalf. Credits can be used towards any program through the end of 2022 and are transferrable. Please note that this option does not apply to programs with non-refundable payments; in those cases we will contact you to provide options if the program cannot operate as scheduled.

If you cancel your participation in a program that is still scheduled to operate less than 30 days in advance the standard cancellation policy, or the cancellation policy specific to that particular program, applies.

We value our clients and it has always been a key priority to do right by them. But the situation we currently face is radically different to conditions in which we’ve operated in the past. We hope that you will work with us to get through this difficult period and support our efforts to help support local economies, our instructors, and our team members during this challenging time.

We are grateful for your patience, understanding, and support as we adapt to this ever-changing situation. It is our hope that we will all emerge from this stronger and more focused than ever on our friendship and shared passion to engage with our world and capture its beauty through photography.

We will continue to provide updates on our website as the situation evolves. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to review resources available through the World Health Organization and CDC to learn more about COVID-19 and steps you can take to protect yourself.
