How we collect personal information

We collect information from you in order to deliver safe and high-quality programs for which you have registered, and to inform you about upcoming opportunities. Personal information is collected by Visionary Wild in several ways including:

  • Registering for a program
  • Creating a password-protected user account with us
  • Sending us email through any of the email addresses provided via the website,
  • Subscribing to our mailing list
  • Downloading specific content from the Visionary Wild website
  • Filling out an evaluation or other surveys
  • Contacting us by email, telephone, or other means

When you browse our website, we also automatically receive information including IP address, any referring websites, statistics on page views, traffic to and from the website, location, the type of operating system and browser used, and other standard web log and analytics data. Some of this data is collected via third party services, such as survey forms and website analytics applications.

Credit card payments are processed through a secure third-party processing service, and credit card information may be stored by this processing service in order to transact future payments. We do not store credit card information on-site, but we do store data provided to us via our payment processing providers. We interact with their services in an encrypted, secure and standardized way.

Information we collect

We may collect the following information from you based on how you interact with us. By registering for a Visionary Wild, LLC program, you consent to your information being used in this way.

  • We may collect your email address and phone number to respond to inquiries or questions you have posed to us
  • When you register to participate in a Visionary Wild, LLC program you will be asked to provide your name, physical address, telephone number, email address, and occupancy preferences. You will be given the option to open a password-protected user account, which will allow you to save personal information, make online payments, and manage future registrations
  • Prior to embarking on a Visionary Wild, LLC program, you will be required to fill out a participant information form and liability waiver, which will include the above referenced information, as well as other information such as passport details, emergency contacts, medical conditions, dietary and special requirements, insurance information, and other information we should be aware of to provide the requested services and to help ensure your safety.
  • We may be required to collect information on behalf of or share information with a service operator, for example, a company operating a charter vessel, arranging local transportation or lodging, or providing local guide services. In these cases, the information will be shared with the requesting company and their privacy policies will apply.

What we do with your information

Our principle purpose in collecting, using and storing your personal information is to provide you with a quality workshop or expedition experience, and to share information with you about upcoming Visionary Wild, LLC programs. We may use the information you provide to us:

  • For internal record keeping
  • To provide you with the service you requested from us, and to help us to ensure your comfort and safety while participating in a Visionary Wild, LLC program
  • To contact you in preparation for a Visionary Wild, LLC program, in order to provide information and resources related to the program and to provide assistance as requested; or to request information from you to complete your booking and ensure that we can provide the requested services
  • To follow up with you to request your evaluation of our services
  • For marketing analysis and insights, to analyze trends and help us develop future programs
  • For marketing activities and email updates about upcoming programs.

Failure to provide requested information

Where we need to collect personal data from you in order to provide a service for you, such as a program for which you have registered, and you fail to provide the data when requested, we may not be able to perform certain services for you. This could result in a modified itinerary or cancellation of your registration. Visionary Wild is not responsible for, and will not be held liable for, any expenses incurred by a client in relation to amended or cancelled services due to failure to provide data.

Visionary Wild, LLC (or a third party providing services to Visionary Wild, LLC) may use cookies, pixel tags or other local storage provided by your browser or associated applications. These may be used to provide you with a range of services including to identify you, remember your preferences or account information, measure the effectiveness of the website and our promotions and customize them towards our customer’s needs and interests, analyze your usage of the website, and for security purposes. You may adjust your internet browser to disable cookies. If cookies are disabled, we may not be able to provide you with the full range of services.

Who we share your data with

Visionary Wild, LLC will share information collected when registering for a trip, such as emergency contact information, medical issues, dietary or special requirements, and insurance information, with trip leaders/instructors so that they can help to ensure your safety and respond to emergencies as necessary.

Visionary Wild, LLC does not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to any third parties, although Visionary Wild, LLC will share your personal information with our sponsors and affiliates with your permission. You may opt out of this at any time.

Data storage

Visionary Wild has taken steps to protect your personal information. These steps are intended to prevent, but do not guarantee against, the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. We employ industry-standard data encryption practices including SSL certificates and current encryption protocols across our website, and we do not store any credit card details.

Data retention

We retain personal information regarding you or your use of services for as long as you are a client or for as long as needed to provide you with our services. We also retain personal information for as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to protect us in the event of disputes, and to enforce our agreements and to protect our and others’ interests. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
